Ask one focused question. Hear the candidate answer.

Skilltage Unscripted adds one focused video question to a recruiter-controlled hiring process. Candidates test their device, record on their own time, and submit only their selected answer for transcript-grounded human review.

Invite a candidate to answer one role-relevant question on their own time. They choose the take to submit; you review the answer with transcript-grounded context.

What Skilltage Unscripted includes

One question with clear boundaries

Write one role-relevant question and set the deadline, maximum answer length, retake allowance, and candidate-facing message.

A candidate-controlled recording flow

Send a secure link where the candidate can read the notices, test their device, record, preview, and choose an answer.

The selected answer, with transcript context

Review the submitted video, transcript, unclear points, and transcript-grounded summary as supporting material.

An optional welcome from the recruiter

Record or upload a short welcome for the request, or leave it out; the welcome is not transcribed or evaluated.

Start with one question worth answering

Skilltage Unscripted begins in Interactions, after a recruiter has selected the candidate and chosen the video-request action. Write one role-relevant question, set the deadline, maximum answer duration, and retake allowance, and optionally add a short welcome video.

Let the candidate choose what to submit

The candidate opens a secure link, reads the notices, and tests the camera and microphone without uploading the device test. They can record, preview, and try again within the allowed number of retakes, then choose the answer they want the recruiter to see.

Review the answer with its words in view

Only the candidate-selected answer is uploaded. Skilltage can prepare a transcript and transcript-grounded summary, including unclear or unanswered points and possible follow-ups. The video and supporting material stay linked to the request for authenticated human review.

More context, not an automated assessment

Video adds a candidate response to the evidence already under review. Skilltage does not rank, reject, shortlist, hire, or infer appearance, emotion, accent, personality, communication style, or role fit from the recording. Recruiters review the answer and decide what happens next.

Frequently asked questions

When should we use a Skilltage Unscripted request?
Use it when one focused, role-relevant question would add useful context beyond the written application. The request starts from Interactions after a recruiter has selected the candidate.
How many questions can one request contain?
Exactly one recruiter-written question. Skilltage Unscripted does not create a multi-step or multi-question interview sequence.
Can the candidate test and retake the recording?
Yes. Candidates can test their camera and microphone, preview an answer, and record again within the retake allowance configured by the recruiter.
Which recordings are uploaded?
Only the answer selected and submitted by the candidate is uploaded. Device tests and discarded takes stay on the candidate's device.
Does Skilltage evaluate personality or communication style from video?
No. The transcript-grounded material supports human review. Skilltage does not infer appearance, emotion, accent, personality, communication style, or role fit from the recording.
Can the recruiter include a welcome video?
Yes. A recruiter can attach an optional welcome video or leave it out for a particular request. Welcome videos are for orientation and are not transcribed, summarised, or evaluated.
